Instituted in 2001, the NRTA Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) is made up of people who provide an open forum for general consumer and ADA related issues for the NRTAs fixed route and paratransit services. As a transit agency receiving Federal transportation monies it is required that the NRTA have active citizen consumer participation in the planning process and during project development.
The CAC meets quarterly (July, October, January and April). All proceedings are held in accordance with the latest edition of Roberts Rules of Order. The CAC observes the following order of business when meeting:
- Comments from the Public
- Approval of Minutes
- Reports from subcommittees
- Report from the NRTA
- Unfinished Business
- New Business
- Informal or General Business
- Date of Next Meeting
- Adjournment
The committee is comprised of members from the elderly and disabled community as well as the general public. Members are appointed by the NRTA Advisory Board.
